Webex, Audi, CARIAD, and HARMAN are partnering to elevate the in-car collaboration experience
With the increasing popularity of hybrid work models, people now have greater freedom in determining not only how they work, but also where they work. This newfound flexibility requires seamless, uninterrupted collaboration, whether working from home, the office, or on the go.
Webex and Audi are partnering to deliver elevated in-car meeting experiences, including best-in-class audio, seamless connectivity, and distraction-minimizing collaboration during driving. The Webex automotive application will be the first collaboration app available through the in-vehicle Audi Application Store. The Application Store is developed by CARIAD and HARMAN and designed for select Audi vehicles, with additional Volkswagen Group brands to follow at a later time.
With features designed to prioritize safety with one-touch join and audio-only mode when the car is in transit to ensure that drivers can participate in meetings without taking their eyes off the road. When parked, drivers can take advantage of Webex’s full immersive collaboration experience and are able to view meeting participants, shared content, and closed captioning.
Webex AI-powered audio enhances the meeting experience with unrivaled noise removal and voice optimization. This ensures drivers can be heard clearly, even if there are disruptive background sounds such as roadway noise or other people in the car.
This partnership presents people with access to elevated work experiences that can be personalized to fit their lifestyles and enable work on the go. Beginning this July, drivers can easily download the Webex App from the Application Store on the car’s infotainment system, with no phone needed for set up. The Application Store will be available in new Audi production models, including: Audi A4, A5, Q5, A6, A7, A8, Q8 e-tron and e-tron GT, in Europe, USA, Canada, Mexico and Overseas markets.
